Economic Analysis and Evaluation of Disaster Prevention Projects in Consideration of Indirect Benefits

Abstract

In order to derive accurate investment priority results for current disaster prevention projects, it is necessary to introduce a methodology that has improved upon the existing economic evaluation model. In this study, we used the Korean damage and loss function, which was newly developed in an R&D project of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS). In the case of indirect benefit calculations, indirect benefit items that can be calculated for cost value were selected and developed to be applicable at the district level.
