The article examines the key aspects of the environmental condition of the Pavlodar region in the 1990s. It provides an analysis of the climate, the structure of industrial production, and the availability of minerals. Based on statistical materials, the state of atmospheric air characterized by the presence of harmful impurities polluting the environment has been studied. The status and usage of water resources in the region are also indicated. The authors note a real threat of pollution of the Irtysh River by heavy industry waste in the region. The analysis of the materials showed that despite having significant land resources, the Pavlodar region inefficiently used them for agriculture. In conclusion, it is stated that the environment of the region was influenced by an increase in pollution of water and land resources with toxic metals as a result of the activities of non-ferrous metallurgy and thermal power plants.

The article examines key aspects of the environmental state of the West Kazakhstan region in the late 1990s to early 2000s. It presents characteristics of the general environmental condition, atmospheric air quality, water quality, and environmental protection measures. An analysis of official data sources indicates that increased hydrocarbon production at the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field (KOGCF) and other industrial enterprises led to a rise in gross emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, particularly nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide. The authors highlight a significant risk of river pollution from heavy industry waste in the region. Moreover, the analysis reveals that despite ample water and mineral resources, the West Kazakhstan region did not effectively utilize them for agricultural purposes. In conclusion, it is evident that the environmental state of the region was negatively impacted by increased pollution of atmospheric air and water resources with toxic metals resulting from industrial activities.

The article notes that after the beginning of the process of developing virgin lands in Kazakhstan in the 1950s, the health authorities faced the question of creating a disinfection station in the city of Tselinograd. The problem in those years was acute, since sewage treatment plants were under construction in the virgin land city and often sewage water was pumped without treatment and discharged into the Taldy-Kul storage lake, located 12 km from the city. The high population density led to an annual increase in the number of infections. The ongoing and final disinfection measures carried out by the health authorities undoubtedly gave certain positive results. However, in infectious diseases hospitals, the regime of chamber disinfection was constantly violated, there were not enough staff, which together lowered the quality of the complex of special measures aimed at destroying pathogens of infectious diseases. The authors of the article came to the conclusion that the measures carried out by the health authorities could not meet the needs of the local and visiting population, and the insufficient organization of the sanitary service was one of the reasons for the high incidence of various infections among the population.
