The aims of this paper are to objectively evaluate the green innovation ability of manufacturing enterprises in an innovation network and to consider the mutual influence relationship and information randomness of each evaluation index. To do so, 14 indicators were chosen to capture the innovation environment, input, and output, and to construct an evaluation index system. The cloud model method is used to express the evaluation information to assign a quantitative value to qualitative information, and this method is combined with the entropy method to determine the initial weight of the indices. Then, the cloud model and decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method are combined to determine the final comprehensive weight of the indices, and the similarity between each value and ideal value is determined by the cloud distance measurement method and the grey correlation analysis method. Finally, the effectiveness and stability of this method and an accurate numerical method are verified in an empirical analysis that evaluates the green innovation ability of different enterprises. The results demonstrate the superiority of the evaluation system proposed in this paper, which can provide a theoretical basis for the evaluation of the green innovation ability of enterprises.

Purpose: In the recent decade, the so-called green growth (GG) concept has made a significant contribution to many-years' debate on sustainable development (SD). One of its key pillars is eco-innovation (EI), however little information is available on whether and to what extent eco-innovation can be actually perceived as a significant factor for implementing green growth. For this reason, the aim of this paper is to clarify and synthesise findings at the intersection of these two fields: eco-innovation and the green growth processes. Design/Methodology/Approach: The paper provides a special insight into the relationship between EI and GG incorporating the spatial dimension into analysis. The empirical part is based on the sample of 21 European countries. Findings: The rests of spatial panel models show that there exist positive effects of investing in eco-innovations on green growth. However, these results involve strong nonlinearities and threshold effects. The obtained results shed a new light on the uncovering relevant aspects and complexities of eco-innovations and green growth. Practical Implications: These results suggest that the policy-makers should mainly focus on stimulating the companies to introduce eco-innovations aiming at a reduction of material input and energy per unit output as well as an improvement of eco-management practices. Government incentives for green technology and organizational solutions may include a combination of subsidies and tax incentives. Originality/Value: This study is the first one which includes different measures of ecoinnovations and relates them to the green growth process. These measures allow us portray the countries' eco-innovation efforts from input, process, and output perspectives.

How environmental innovation influences firm performance: A meta‐analytic review

Coupled with the increasing concern toward sustainability and sustainable development issues, environmental innovation practices have been of burgeoning interest among both scholars and practitioners. Building on this, the main purpose of this study is to quantitatively aggregate the extant empirical research on eco‐innovation and firm performance and to assess the role of moderating factors in this theoretical relationship by pursuing a meta‐analytic approach. To serve this objective, 196 effects based upon 70 studies including more than 25,000 firms (N = 25,412) were meta‐analytically examined. Quantitative evidence drawn from the meta‐analysis indicates that organizational eco‐innovation exerts the strongest influence on firm performance. Moreover, the meta‐analytic findings suggest that significant variations in the correlation between eco‐innovation and firm performance exist across different performance types, and the magnitude of the eco‐innovation–firm performance association is stronger in developing compared with developed countries. This meta‐analytic review is expected to considerably contribute to the pertinent literature by means of improving the understanding of the relevance of eco‐innovation typology to firm performance.
