Abstract:Cystic echinococcosis (CE) and alveolar echinococcosis (AE), two severe zoonotic tapeworm infections caused by Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato and Echinococcus multilocularis, respectively, are referred to as echinococcosis (McManus et al. 2012).
