Resumo-Recentemente, alguns artigos têm sugerido a compressão de registros eletromiográficos como imagens, através do seu rearranjo em uma matriz bidimensional e posterior codificação com compressores de imagens. Entretanto, como conseqüência dessa nova formatação, a correlação entre os segmentos de sinalé geralmente perdida, o que reduz a eficiência do processo de compressão. Neste trabalho, novas técnicas de préprocessamento para sinais eletromiográficos, formatados como matrizes bidimensionais, são introduzidas: a ordenação por diferença percentual e a ordenação por complexidade relativa, que apresentam o potencial de favorecer a exploração das dependências intersegmento. Os experimentos realizados com sinais isométricos reais, obtidos em laboratório, que foram primeiramente processados e então comprimidos com um codificador JPEG2000, mostram que o esquema propostoé eficaz, proporcionando resultados superiores ao estado da arte presente na literatura, em termos de PRD × Taxa de compressão.
