Ec Modelling and Enhancement Signals in CFRP Inspection

Abstract: Abstract-Non Destructive Testing techniques are more and more exploited in order to quickly and cheaply recognize flaws into the inspected materials, specially for carbon fiber reinforced polymers in recent years. Their production which are widely used both in civil and military applications, is an elaborate process un-free from faults and problems. Problems during the manufacturing, such as plies' overlapping, can cause flaws in the resulting material, this way compromising its integrity. Within this framewor… Show more

“…Megali G. et al used COMSOL Multiphysics software based on the A-ϕ method to perform electromagnetic eddy current simulation analysis. The model unit was divided into tetrahedral mesh elements, and the CFRP plate was equivalent to a continuous anisotropic material [18]. When using eddy current coils to study the damage of CFRP, the establishment of its electromechanical coupling model becomes very important.…”

“…Eddy current has great potential in industrial field. For instance, in nondestructive testing [13,14], in contrast to other methods, the application of eddy current imaging has the characteristics of thrift, simplicity, fast detection, high efficiency, realizing automation easily, etc. [15][16][17].…”
