Abstract

Eating disorders are a category of mental disorders that typically develop during adolescence. These disorders are characterized by abnormalities in eating habits and discomfort relating to the weight and shape of one's body. Effective diagnosis and treatment of these disorders are essential, as they are associated with a variety of serious medical conditions and a heightened risk of premature death, including by suicide.
