In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), detection and report of continuous object, such as forest fire and toxic gas leakage, is one of the major applications. In large-scale continuous object tracking in WSNs, there might be many source nodes simultaneously, detecting the continuous object. Each nodes reports its data to both a base station and mobile workers in the industry field. For communication between the source nodes and a mobile worker, sink location service is needed to continuously notify the location of the mobile worker. But, as the application has a large number of sources, it causes a waste of energy consumption. To address this issue, in this paper, we propose a two-phase sink location service scheme. In the first phase, the proposed scheme constructs a virtual grid structure for merging the source nodes. Then, the proposed scheme aggregates the merging points from an originated merging point as the second phase. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is superior to other schemes in terms of energy consumption.

It is commonly read in the Newspaper about the Smuggling of the Trees such as Sandal, Teak etc taking place throughout the world. Since the demands for these trees are more, the cost of such trees are also high. By selling the woods of such trees, a huge amount can be earned and hence the smuggling of such trees may take place which is considered to be an illegal act. In order to prohibit the illegal smuggling of these trees some measures are to be undertaken. The main objective of this system is to restrict the smuggling and save the valuable trees so to maintain balanced eco-system by preventing deforestation. The system uses the GPS technology from which admin can find the location of guards so that if particular guard is present near to the location where smuggling is going on, the admin can approach that guard to take some preventive measures. The system also uses a chip (board) on which various Sensors (such as MEMS Sensor, Fire Sensor, Inductive Proximity Sensor, & Ultrasonic Sensor) are embedded which are controlled through IoT. These sensors monitors and controls the parameters like tilting, burning and cutting of the trees, and these are accessed on Android App installed in Android Smart phone.

A fire disaster that does not save can certainly cause losses, both in the form of objects and casualties. This occurs for several reasons: late information obtained from the fire department or the owner's ignorance at the time of a fire. In this study, a fire early detection system was built using smoke, heat, and gas sensors based on an SMS gateway and an alarm. This system is used to provide information about fire detection as early as possible to protect against fire disasters. With this system, the potential and risk of fire can be reduced. This system is used to identify potential fires that occur in housing. Several experiments were carried out with fire simulations to get the reaction from the sensors used. Covers smoke testing, temperature testing, gas testing, and SMS message responses from various providers. This research produces a fire early warning system that provides SMS and alarm alerts.
