“…Dear Editor, we would like to share ideas on the publication “Early Effects of Inactivated (CoronaVac) Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus-2; SARS-CoV-2(SARS-CoV-2) Vaccine on Retrobulbar Vascular Blood Flow and Retinal Vascular Density[1].”In their study [1] , Yorgun et al sought to determine the early effects of the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on retinal vascular density and retrobulbar vascular blood flow in “healthy” patients. While there was a sustained decrease in the ophthalmic artery - resistive index (OA-RI), OA- pulsatility index (PI), central retinal artery - peak systolic velocity (CRA-PSV), and nasal posterior ciliary arteries (PCA-RI) values at the fourth week after vaccination, Yorgun et al discovered that there was no statistically significant difference in the superficial capillary plexus - vessel density (SCP-VD), deep capillary plexus (DCP)-VD, foveal avascular zone (FAZ) or choriocapillaris blood flow (CCF) measurements.According to Yorgun et al, the CoronaVac vaccination altered the retrobulbar blood flow but did not initially impair retinal vascular density [1] .…”
