E-learning adoption in the banking workplace in Indonesia

Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to determine whether the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) could be extended to include external variables including computer self-efficacy, prior experience, computer anxiety, management support and compatibility, to further understand the learners' perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of an e-learning system. The study also aims to clarify which factors are more influential in affecting the decision to use e-learning. Five factors were examined together with the TA… Show more

“…Technology Acceptance Model An extension of the theory of reasoned action, the technology acceptance model (TAM) assesses elements that can stimulate either the rejection or acceptance of technology (Davis, 1989;Venkatesh & Davis, 2000). Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the two vital variables of the TAM (Purnomo & Lee, 2013). Lee (2006) endorsed the continual refining of PU and PEOU as bases so as to assess their strength in technology acceptance.…”

Purnomo and Lee (2013) stated that acceptance is the product of a rational assessment of the system which guides the decision to accept.…”

XP refers the extent to which individuals with more experience in computer use, Internet and email, as well as saving and locating files are more likely to have favorable feelings towards the e-learning system's usefulness and ease of use (Lee et al, 2013;Purnomo & Lee, 2013). Finally, TI has been defined as the personal willingness for trying new information technologies (Agrawal & Prasad, 1998).…”
