In protest discourses the problem of using aesthetic and artistic elements lies in the centre of attention. The authors draw empirical material from the Belarusian protest movement, especially the anti-government protests of 2020. In the current study the problem of the use of aesthetic elements in protest discourses is considered in two aspects: 1) in the aspect of artistic activism, i.e. the involvement of artists in resistance activities; 2) in terms of the use of aesthetic speech acts in various forms of protest activity, i.e. as a special rhetorical tool with emphatic and persuasive function, but also as a means of expression with the satisfying function. As a result of this dichotomy, the article is divided into two parts. The authors point out that even though public art is not developed in Belarus (e.g. in the field of visual arts), aesthetic creativity is a very characteristic feature of both street poster discourses and forms of protest in the Internet.

To zjawisko jest traktowane jako zintegrowane, funkcjonalnie spójne wydarzenie komunikacyjne o charakterze osądowym, oporowym i ultymatywnym, ufundowane na protestacyjnych aktach mowy. struktura dyskursu w ujęciu autora składa się z czterech modułów, którymi są: warunki wstępne, akty mowy (illokucje), działania i towarzyszące doświadczenia. Za Z. nęckim opisowi podlegają cztery charakterystyki dyspozycyjne dyskursów protestacyjnych. protestacyjne akty mają charakter synkretyczny i zawierają trzy znaczenia illokucyjne: 1) negatywne wartościowanie antagonisty; 2) dezaprobatę antagonisty oraz 3) żądanie. ponadto w dyskursie protestu występują komplementarne i opcjonalne akty mowy: argumentacja, uzasadnienie roszczeń, wygrażanie, wyśmianie antagonisty i in. kolejny blok zachowań językowych to konstatacje, ekspozycje modalne (wyrażanie przekonań) i ekspresje. Działania w dyskursie protestu są skonfigurowane z aktami mowy na dwa sposoby: w dyskursach deklaracyjnych (np. w petycjach) akcent jest położony na oddziaływanie przez informację werbalną -w tej sytuacji działania mają charakter logistyczny (sporządzenie tekstu, zebranie podpisów, przekazanie petycji do adresata, monitorowanie stanu rozpatrzenia itd.). Drugi typ występuje w wypadku dyskursów oporowych, np. akcji ulicznych -takich jak wiece, pochody, demonstracje, strajki okupacyjne, flash moby, bojkoty. Moduł doświadczeń zawiera trzy kategorie, takie jak: uwydatnione doświadczanie statusów społecznych i tożsamości obu stron, ekscytacja za sprawą poczucia integracji, solidarności i przełamania lęków, kompleksów wewnętrznych oraz frustracja i poczucie potrzeby rozładowania psychicznego poprzez sublimację (tzn. zastępcze formy wywołania przyjemności i satysfakcji protestujących). Autor przedstawia również przegląd najważniejszych kierunków badawczych w tym zakresie, które dzieli na dwa nurty: analizy typu case study i badania profilowe. Omówiono trzy perspektywy badawcze: 1) etnometodologiczno-interakcyjną, dotyczącą kulturowo usytuowanych procesów komunikacyjnych; 2) społeczno-praktyczną, odnoszącą się do opisywania zjawisk komunikacyjnych w świetle ich powiązań z systemem społecznym, z uwagi także na kontekst historyczny; 3) medialną, polegającą na analizie znaków i sposobów ich przekazywania.

The present contribution is a corpus-based analysis of protest messages that could be read during demonstrations in Poland against the decision of the Constitutional Court imposing further restrictions on the abortion law in 2020. The corpus is made up of 1000 texts written on placards and banners of the demonstrators, which were photographed and uploaded on newspaper websites or on Facebook between October 22 and November 22. The author examines the slogans with the aim of grasping the discursive identity/identities of protesting women, and reflect on the changing perception of the role of women in the Polish society.
