Dynamics of Changes of C-Reactive Protein Level in Blood Serum in the Development and Course of Experimental Periodontitis and Their Correction by Flavonol

Abstract: The aim: To study the value of C-reactive protein in the experimental animals blood serum with bacterial-immune periodontitis and its correction with quercetin. Materials and methods: Modeling of periodontitis was performed by the following method: after thiopental anesthesia (at a dose of 40 mg / kg intramuscularly) rats were fixed. A subcostal injection of 0.01 ml of egg protein with cultures of Streptococcus hemolytic and Staphylococcus aureus at a dose of 4 CFU was performed in the area of periodontal tis… Show more

“…According to animal experiments of periodontitis [22], serum hs-CRP, which can reflect the immune inflammatory response of the body and promote the activation of the inflammatory system, will be significantly reduced under effective therapeutic intervention, which is consistent with our findings. TNF-α also mediates the promotion mechanism of periodontal tissue destruction, which can not only control periodontal tissue homeostasis but also affect the key pathway of alveolar bone resorption [23].…”

“…Immunoglobulins are produced by plasma cells (mature B cells) in response to antigens of various geneses. Plasma cells produce antibodies that neutralize foreign antigens during its initial entry into the body (Demkovych et al 2021(Demkovych et al , 2022. The immune system is able to recognize and remember antigens so that in the future the immune response is accelerated and production of antibodies is increased.…”

“…[21] These indicators are the proof of increased destructive processes, inhibition of the detoxifying properties of the body and the accumulation of intermediate toxic products, mainly lipoperoxidation, in the serum, which are formed during the development and course of bacterial-immune experimental periodontitis. [23] Endogenous intoxication not only accompanies most inflammatory diseases, but is also an important factor in their pathogenesis and, in many cases, determines the possible adverse effects, because an important feature of MMWMs is their high biological activity. They have neurotoxic activity, inhibit protein synthesis, promote hemolysis of erythrocytes, inhibit erythropoiesis and enzyme activity, and cause a state of secondary immunosuppression.…”
