Interoperability of data from different sources is the main purpose of this study. The survey covers the waters of the Black Sea in Bulgaria. Our country has a maritime border of 378 km, of strategic importance and is close to military conflicts (e.g. Ukraine). The use of different satellite and in situ data in hybrid models makes it possible to obtain much more information from one point or area of interest. Different satellite data have been used, which are collated with registers of open and spatial data from the Bulgarian Open Data Portal. Much of the ground information is extremely rich in detailed information on the chemical, environmental and climate status of the specific point or area of interest. The survey uses Copernicus data, Landsat, the Open Data Portal, the Black Sea Basin Directorate and Innovative Techniques and Methods for Reducing Marine Litter in the Black Sea Coastal Areas -(BSB552 RedMarLitter and etc. These interoperable data will be useful for coastal protection and security, environmental monitoring and adequate decisionmaking in the administration, business and various other groups of data users. The methodology aims to support work on Digital Twins of the Earth. Information from so many sources will at one point lead to a much more effective and efficient management of territories in the event of environmental disasters (e.g. plastic and oil pollution), various military conflicts and their consequences, as well as annual monitoring of tourist areas and many others.

Wetlands are ecologically vital habitats that play a crucial role in supporting biodiversity and providing essential ecosystem services. They are considered to be among the most productive ecosystems on the planet that provide numerous benefits.For the purposes of this study, Straldzha Complex Protected Area, Bulgaria was chosen as the object of investigation. Straldzha Complex Protected Area includes a reservoir and surrounding wetlands and meadows, the remains of the eastern part of the former Straldzha Plateau (the largest plateau ever in Bulgaria). The wetland is sensitive to human activities, related to the water management and unsustainable use of the former plateau as agricultural land.For the purposes of this study, data from Sentinel-2 satellite of the European Space Agency were used. The monitoring was carried out during the study period 2017 -2022. An index-based classification was used in the study, utilizing NDVI, NDWI and MSAVI2 indices for classifying the contents within the wetlands boundaries. NDGI model was applied as well, evaluating the vegetation dynamics in the marsh. The obtained results showed successful mapping and monitoring of wetlands. The wetlands are of high importance and should be protected and conserved to maintain the benefits they provide to the environment and society.The data and results of this research will be able to serve Destination Earth (DestinE), which is an ambitious initiative of the European Union to create a digital model of the Earth that will be used for monitoring the effects of natural and human activities on our planet, prediction of extreme events and adapting policies to the climate challenges. In this study, monitoring of the Dragoman Marsh was conducted for the period 2018-2023. The Dragoman Marsh is distinguished as the largest natural karst wetland area in Bulgaria. Monitoring of this natural formation is essential for studying its dynamic processes and ensuring its protection. The use of satellite data represents a key tool in this context. The data from the Sentinel 2 satellite being utilized for this purpose. Following appropriate processing of this data, classification of the object by years and seasons - spring and summer-autumn - was performed, using indices such as NDVI, NDWI, and TCT based index - NDGI. The obtained results contribute to a better understanding of the development of the wetland area and provide guidance for its conservation and management.
