Dynamical Hybrid System for Optimizing and Controlling Efficacy of Plant‐Based Protein in Aquafeeds

Abstract: In this paper, a mathematical model was used to evaluate a dynamical hybrid system for optimizing and controlling the efficacy of plant-based protein in aquafeeds. Fishmeal (FM), raw rapeseed meal (RM), and a fermented meal with yeast (RM-Yeast) and fungi (Aspergillus oryzae RM-Koji) were used as test ingredients for the determination of apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of dry matter, crude protein, crude lipid, energy, and essential amino acids (EAA) for olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus, 7 ± 0… Show more

“…Condition factor and viscerasomatic index (VSI) were not affected by dietary CM in red seabream. This result corroborates previous work on plant protein fed to red seabream [ 25 ]. For utilization of CM on aquaculture feeds, improvement of palatability using attractants and reduction of ANFs in CM by an extruder treatment or fermentation are necessary.…”

“…The composition of feed ingredients has substantial ramifications on the ADC of various nutrients, notably crude protein, total or crude protein, energy, and dry matter [ 25 ]. In the present study, diets CM0, SBM20.5, and CM20.5 had significantly superior protein digestibility than diet CM33.3.…”

“…Additionally, several other methods have been applied over the past decades to investigate their effects on the nutritional value of rapeseed meal (Table 2). Fermentation of rapeseed meal has been shown to increase the availability of nutrients, 76,77,78,79,80 as well as elevating amino acid and crude protein content, while reducing phytate and tannin content in rapeseed meal 79,80 . However, due to different fermentation conditions, content of certain amino acids can be reduced by fermentation 79 .…”

“…Antibiotics have been used for centuries as remedies, growth promoters, and health stimulants, but due to widespread misuse and consequences, antibiotics have been outlawed in many countries [ 17 ]. Antibiotics and other synthetic compounds are progressively being substituted with environmentally acceptable alternatives [ 18 , 19 , 20 ].…”
