“…Nonetheless, 2005 UD is a likely parent body of the Daytime Sextantid meteor shower whose dynamical age of τ > 10 4 yr was estimated by numerical simulations (Jakubík & Neslušan 2015). The dynamical evolution of 2005 UD numerically investigated by MacLennan et al (2021) reveals that the perihelion of 2005 UD was also located at q ≈ 0.14 au approximately 1.5 × 10 4 yr ago. Therefore, we have no reason to rule out the possibility that a dust trail was produced along the trajectory of 2005 UD by the electrostatic lofting mechanism 1.5 × 10 4 yr ago, which does not contradict the dynamical age of the Daytime Sextantids.…”

“…et al ( 2007 ) noticed that the colour of 2005 UD changed with rotation, probably because of the surficial heterogeneity, and further speculated that the heterogeneity could result from fragmentation or collisional processes that occurred on the precursor of Phaethon and the 2005 UD. Ryabov a, Avdyushe v & Williams ( 2019 ) asserted that 2005 UD is not a member of the Phaethon-Geminid complex based on their dynamical analysis o v er the last 5000 yr; ho we ver, Hanu š et al ( 2016 ), and more recently MacLennan, Toliou & Granvik ( 2021 ), suggested that the two objects might have separated from a common parent body a long time ago, approximately 10 5 yr ago or, more likely, even before this epoch. On the contrary, Kareta et al ( 2021 ) argued that the similar spectral property is only by coincidence from the analysis of their near-infrared spectrum.…”

“…However, the specific source region, presumably in the main asteroid belt, is unknown. Suggested sources include the large B-type asteroid 2 Pallas (de León et al 2010) and, more likely, a collisional family in the inner asteroid belt (MacLennan et al 2021). The km-sized asteroid 2005 UD appears dynamically related to Phaethon (Ohtsuka et al 2006) and is coincidentally also a B-type object (Jewitt and Hsieh 2006), (although recent observations show dissimilarity in the near infrared; Kareta et al 2021).…”
