Abstract-For many years mobile devices were commonly recognized as Web consumers. However, the advancements in mobile device manufacturing, coupled with the latest achievements in wireless communication developments are both key enablers for shifting the role of mobile devices from service consumers to service providers. This paradigm shift is a major step towards the realization of pervasive and ubiquitous computing. Mobile Web service provisioning is the art of hosting and offering Web services from mobile devices, which actively contributes towards the direction of Mobile Internet. In this paper, we provide the state of the art of mobile service provisioning as it currently stands. We focus our discussions on its applicability, reliability, and challenges of mobile environments and resource constraints. We study the different provisioning architectures, enabler technologies, publishing and discovery mechanisms, and maintenance of up-to-date service registries. We point out the major open research issues in each provisioning aspect. Performance issues due to the resource constraints of mobile devices are also discussed.

Traditional distributed database transaction applications within large organizations often involve a large number of resources. In this case, people and DDBMSs distributed over a wide geographic area, may introduce conflict between heterogeneous systems. Web services (WS) provide solution for this problem since WS have an independent platform, independent language, and independent object model. This work presents WS application to access heterogeneous and distributed database via horizontal data fragments that is designed to be reliable, flexible and scalable. It describes the setup of SOAP server and applications based on the SOAP for end user client. In addition, it allows the publishing of WS descriptions to submit user requests (goal) to retrieve the required information. Here we evaluate the functional, behavior and performance of WS among possible different alternatives with real-time and execution parameters. Implementation details and case study experiments are presented along with the corresponding results.

News websites provide various kinds of information and have a great contribution in creating knowledge to community citizens. Providing security has a great impact on the usability of these websites and encourages users to trust and share their personal information to take advantages of various facilities on the news website. The main contribution of this paper is to examine if website features affect designing a secure news website. The features have been classified by a deep and complete review of the most applicable features in news websites through the study of the top 50 international news websites. Validating the classification was the next step, which was held by identifying experts' opinions about the most pertinent features of news websites that affect the security of the news websites. The aim of this paper is to find out the correlation of each identified feature with each security service. The result would be beneficial for news website's administrators to design these websites effectively and securely in order to satisfy their users by suitable response to their requirements.
