Dynamic user equipment‐based hysteresis‐adjusting algorithm in LTE femtocell networks

Abstract: In long-term evoluation (LTE) femtocell networks, hysteresis is one of the main parameters which affects the performance of handover with a number of unnecessary handovers, including ping-pong, early, late and incorrect handovers. In this study, the authors propose a hybrid algorithm that aims to obtain the optimised unique hysteresis for an individual mobile user moving at various speeds during the inbound handover process. This algorithm is proposed for two-tier scenarios with macro and femto. The centralise… Show more

“…A radio resource management scheme has been proposed in [20] based on two player sequential game for LTE downlink. In [21] a dynamic user equipment-based hybrid hysteresis-adjusting algorithm has been proposed for gaining the optimised distinctive hysteresis for individual mobile user. A downlink power control scheme for femtocell signal has been proposed in [22] that alters the transmission power depending on path loss.…”

“…The path losses (in dB) in a single macrocell, single microcell and in a cluster of a macro-femtocell and micro-femtocell cluster-based LTE-A network are determined using (19), (21) and (26), respectively. The path loss in a macro-femtocell and micro-femtocell cluster-based LTE-A network is presented in Fig.…”
