In a cloud computing environment, cloud users are competing for the same shared resources in order to run their applications or storage their data. In fact, cloud providers try to offer the necessary resources according to the users' demands giving the illusion of infinite resources. However, when these resources are insufficient to satisfy the users' requirements, conflicts may appear. Thus, it is compulsory to design a resource allocation mechanism that shares resources between cloud users in a fair manner. Moreover, security is considered as a blocking issue for the adoption of cloud computing. Misbehaving users may overload the shared resources leading to Denial of Service problem (DoS), data loss, etc. Therefore, our main goal in this paper is to guarantee efficient resource sharing with a high degree of fairness between cloud users while improving security for shared resources in cloud computing architectures. Thus, we target Dominant Resource Fairness (DRF) mechanism. Under DRF, no cloud user can gain an unfair advantage over another. Efficient and secure utilization of storage resources will be provided.
