“…Since a fracture analysis requires to deal with asymptotic singularities present at the crack tip, the correct evaluation of these parameters is definitely needed. For this purpose, a Fortran 90 software, called FRAC3D, was developed by the author and his colleagues at Lehigh University ME&M Department [11,12] and has been a remarkable finite element program for the solution of fracture mechanics problems with high complexity (in terms of analysis type, loading, material behavior or geometry).
