Dynamic response and load distribution of pile groups in layered liquefiable ground

Abstract: Three dimensional finite element simulation of 3×5 pile groups in layered liquefiable ground during earthquake was carried out in this paper to investigate the dynamic load distribution within the pile groups. A unified plasticity model for large post-liquefaction shear deformation of sand was used for the appropriate simulation of soil liquefaction.
