Dynamic Response Analysis of Drill Pipe Considering Horizontal Movement of Platform During Installation of Subsea Production Tree

Abstract: In order to study the dynamic response of a drill pipe under the motion of the float platform, current and waves during the installation of a subsea production tree (SPT), a numerical model was established to analyse the mechanical properties of the drill pipe. The effects of the float platform motion on the mechanical behaviours of the drill pipe are carried out as well as the operation depth, submerged weight of the SPT, current velocity and drill pipe specification. At the same time, the evolution mechanism… Show more

“…Riserless drilling is significant for ocean exploration [1][2][3]. As the core component of riserless drilling, under flow and rotation, flow-induced vibration seems to increase the damage to the drilling pipe, and the phenomenon of flow-induced vibration of the drilling pipe has attracted extensive attention from scholars [4][5][6][7].…”

“…The drilling rig employees are potentially exposed to the eruption of oil, gas, or fire, which puts them under the impact of permanent stress. They are also exposed to dangers related to offshore drilling operations, ‘access’ to the workplace by helicopter or, in the case of adverse weather conditions, by ship ( Leszczyńska & Jeżewska, 2010 ; Leszczyńska, 2016 ; Wang & Chen, 2020 ).…”

“…Sample photograph of an off shore support vessel (OSV) operating at an off shore wind turbine (OWT) farm [1] Th ese issues are important and have been the subject of numerous scientifi c studies. Safety at sea is very important, therefore research has been carried out on various ocean engineering structures for diff erent purposes and dynamics [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. For example, an analysis of ship collisions with 3 types of support structures was published by [13].…”
