Dynamic range enhancement imaging in laser interferometry

Abstract: In this paper, a novel technique to enhance the dynamic range of images acquired in a laser interferometer is presented. The irradiance of the interferometric signal received by the camera, in a Michelson interferometer, is controlled at pixel level using a spatial light modulator. It is shown that this technique increases the signal to noise ratio, hence improving the vertical resolution of interferometer systems.
