Dynamic Provable Data Possession

Abstract: As storage-outsourcing services and resource-sharing networks have become popular, the problem of efficiently proving the integrity of data stored at untrusted servers has received increased attention. In the provable data possession (PDP) model, the client preprocesses the data and then sends it to an untrusted server for storage, while keeping a small amount of meta-data. The client later asks the server to prove that the stored data has not been tampered with or deleted (without downloading the actual data)… Show more

“…In 2012, Newsweek of the US declared the death of printed newspapers. Through Big Data flows, paper manufacturers have to identify new items with which they can cope with future environments and new products that they can make with paper [15]. Just as Xerox is selling document An Efficient Authentication Scheme to Protect User Privacy… management consulting services rather than copiers and IBM is selling new software and servers and abandoning PC sales, paper manufacturers have to rethink their future [16].…”

“…Accumulators for batch updates are presented in [55] and accumulator-like expressions to authenticate static sets for provable data possession are presented in [1,19]. The work in [48] studies efficient algorithms for accumulators with unknown trapdoor information.…”

“…Similar to [21], only partial support for dynamic data operation is considered. Erway et al [12] extended the PDP model in [1] to support dynamic updates to stored data files using rank-based authenticated skip lists. However, the efficiency of their scheme remains unclear and these schemes hold good only for verifying a single copy.…”
