Dynamic Profile-Selection for zSlices based type-2 fuzzy agents controlling multi-user Ambient Intelligent Environments

Abstract: Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is a vision that refers to an information technology paradigm where a physical environment is 'aware' of its human occupants' presence/context and is sensitive, adaptive and responsive to their needs. Physical environments that are augmented with AmI are called Ambient Intelligent Environments (AIEs) which are deemed to be intelligent because the system should be able to recognise human occupants, reason with context and program itself to meet the occupants' needs by learning from th… Show more

“…Because, sensors are prone to faults and noise, type-2 fuzzy modeling is very appropriate for dealing with such application. Designed for applications confronting uncertainty, GT2FC is tested on datasets stemming from an AmI environment which is an intelligent student dormitory (called iDorm) [4], [16], [20]. The iDorm test bed serves to predict the different classes of user actions.…”

“…The main limitation of the current system is its unsuitability for managing multiuser scenarios, where users can influence each other, and individual needs and preferences might be conflicting. This issue could be addressed by explicitly modeling interactions among users, while also taking into account their uncertainty (Bilgin et al 2012). Another way to solve conflicts in a multi-user environments could be to adopt of a set of priorities which define a hierarchy between users, as proposed in (Kulkarni 2002).…”
