Dynamic of the structural alteration of biochar in ancient Anthrosol over a long timescale by Raman spectroscopy

Abstract: The presence of biochar with high carbon accumulation capacity and nutrient adsorption is causally associated with archeological soils. Although this type of soil organic matter has been known for a long time, the knowledge of its structure and environmental behavior is still limited. This work used Raman spectroscopy to obtain structural information and identify alterations in biochar particles. To this end, we studied biochar particles found in an archaeological site with a temporal window lasting 12451 to 1… Show more

“…2b ) of CKMB and laccase@CKMB samples do not show any significant differences, indicates that the immobilization process of laccase did not affect the structure of CKMB. In addition, Biochar has a disordered structure of amorphous phase, which is mainly caused by the uneven pyrolysis of molecules in the pyrolysis process of biochar [ 22 ]. In short, the results of XRD and FTIR help to some extent prove that laccase is well loaded on CKMB.…”

“…The G band noticed nearly 1580 cm −1 in graphite material which is an indication of the presence of organised sp2 domains. The D band noticed at approximately 1350 cm −1 and is related to the defects in the graphene sheet (Sousa et al, 2020).…”
