Dynamic laryngeal narrowing during exercise: a mechanism for generating intrinsic PEEP in COPD?

Abstract: IntroductionPatients with COPD commonly exhibit pursed-lip breathing during exercise, a strategy that, by increasing intrinsic positive end-expiratory pressure, may optimise lung mechanics and exercise tolerance.
