Dynamic cost analysis of a grid connected microgrid using neighborhood based differential evolution technique

Abstract: Summary Microgrids have lately proved to be the most efficient type of power system delivering uninterrupted power to a local area incurring negligible amount of transmission loss. Inclusion of the available renewable energy sources among the various distributed generation (DG) sources in a microgrid have decreased the emission of harmful toxic gases to a great extent. Dynamic economic dispatch indicates the economic dispatch of a microgrid allocating the timely optimal output of the distributed generation sou… Show more

“…On the basis of the state variables defined in differential equations of (1), (2), and (7), an IOFL-based control strategy combined with Lyapunov theory-based dynamic parts was designed to control all the used converters as depicted in Figure 1. These converters were employed in the hybrid DC/AC microgrid structure illustrated in Figure 1 to compensate for the fluctuations of PCC voltage, enhance the power quality, and keep the DC link voltage constant at desired values.…”

“…Recently, discussions on RESs and EMS for MGs have attracted the attention of researchers, and a lot of articles have been published about this topic, which will be highlighted. Dey and Bhattacharyya 5 have presented three soft computing techniques to perform a novel dynamic cost analysis of a MG and minimize its overall cost. The central principles of reliability-centered maintenance and corresponding mathematical concepts for its implementation in MGs are discussed in Moradi et al 6 The uncertainty of intermittent resources as a determinative factor is taken into account in EMS with optimal control of multiple ESS, 7 stochastic programming, 8 Monte Carlo verification, 9 two-stage optimizing (reference/coefficient) method, 10 and single-level mixed-integer linear programming.…”

“…Chen et al studied a smart energy management system (SEMS) based on matrix real code genetic algorithm for optimizing operational cost in both islanded and grid‐connected MG. As all DGs and ESSs are sufficient enough to supply load demand during islanded mode, load shedding is not performed. DLD for both operating modes of MG to minimize operational cost and emission cost is discussed in the literature . While uncertainty is neglected in Dey and Bhattacharyya, influence of fluctuations in renewable energy and load on the total cost for islanded MG is considered in other works …”
