“…Although ultrasonography is the imaging modality of choice for assessing scrotal lesions, MRI can provide important diagnostic information, especially in cases of inconclusive or nondiagnostic sonographic findings 2627282930313233343536373839. DWI with evaluation of ADC has been shown to be an important diagnostic tool, providing quantitative information regarding structural tissue changes at a cellular level, which helps in tissue characterization 123456789101112.…”

“…However, imaging of the scrotum has been significantly refined during recent years 1314151617282930313233343536373839404142434445. The goal of imaging is to improve the diagnosis and management of men with acute scrotal symptoms or a palpable mass and to reduce the number of unnecessary radical surgical procedures.…”

“…Magnetic Resonance (MR) of the testis, by means of classic T1 and T2 weighted sequences, is the second level choice to study the parenchymal pattern, the vascularization and for the morphovolumetric characterization [9][10][11][12][13][14].…”

“…A subtraction algorithm performs this task to create images that can be manually adjusted in all the standard ways to suit the user [9]. Dynamic subtraction imaging has been thoroughly described in the literature [10][11][12] and is a well-established technique, particularly in MR angiography [13] and MR urography [14]. The use of subtraction as a postprocessing tool for quantitative analysis is beyond the scope of this article.…”
