In recent years, the SDN (Software-Defined Networking) paradigm emerged as an easy way to manage large-scale network infrastructures through programmability brought out and its control plane/data plane decoupling logic. This enables infrastructure and service providers to have a global view of the network and track traffic flows from a remote controller. However, congestion control remains a concern due to the evolution of increasingly complex and resource-intensive user requirements (virtual reality, metaverse, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud, ...) on network infrastructures. This server state leads to high latency in request processing and data loss. This paper proposes in such controller-supervised environment, a congestion management scheme within network service servers to maintain acceptable quality of service. The strategy relies on work stealing to ensure better workload balancing. Simulations show that the proposed solution can reduce congestion load into the servers by up to 22%, depending on request grain size, within a shorter latency than other works in the literature. Moreover, the proposed solution allows stolen tasks to be completed within a shorter timeframe.

Large amounts of data are created from sensors in Internet of Things (IoT) services and applications. These data create a challenge in directing these data to the cloud, which needs extreme network bandwidth. Fog computing appears as a modern solution to overcome these challenges, where it can expand the cloud computing model to the boundary of the network, consequently adding a new class of services and applications with high-speed responses compared to the cloud. Cloud and fog computing propose huge amounts of resources for their clients and devices, especially in IoT environments. However, inactive resources and large number of applications and servers in cloud and fog computing data centers waste a huge amount of electricity. This paper will propose a Dynamic Power Provisioning (DPP) system in fog data centers, which consists of a multi-agent system that manages the power consumption for the fog resources in local data centers. The suggested DPP system will be tested by using the CloudSim and iFogsim tools. The outputs show that employing the DPP system in local fog data centers reduced the power consumption for fog resource providers.

Arbiter is one of the main core elements in the network scheduler. The significant goal of this work is to design a high-speed and low execution-time arbiter with lock free and fair arbitration scheme. In this work, four types of arbiters such as matrix arbiter (MA), ping pong arbiter (PPA), distributive round-robin arbiter (DRRA) and enhanced ping lock arbiter (EPLA) are designed and analyzed area, delay, and speed of arbiters. MA is worked in square matrix format and matrix transition is performed for effective routing. The DRRA is designed by using a multiplexer and counter. Hence an, effective scheduling is carried out in DRRA. Binary tree format is used in PPA. The PPA provides low chip size and high speed than existing MA and DRRA. The PPA limits fair arbitration during uniformly distributed active request patterns. To overcome this problem, PPA is improved with some lock systems to create an EPLA. A new ping lock arbiter (PLA) leaf and PLA inter structure is proposed at the gate level to reduce the execution delay, improve the speed and achieve fair arbitration over all other existing arbiters. Resource allocation, execution delay, and speed are analyzed using the Xilinx Integrated Software Environment (ISE) tool.
