“…Kargarnovin et al (2005) show that in the train-track-bridge interaction, the wheel-track roughness is the dominant factor causing ride discomfort when crossing a rail bridge. However, according to data obtained from experiments, the wheel-track roughness becomes less dominant compared to the train-bridge interaction as the speed of the train crossing the bridge increases (Kargarnovin et al, 2005;Youcef et al, 2013). This means that when traveling at low speeds the impact on ride comfort from the bridge itself is quite low, rather the condition of the track has the largest impact on ride comfort.…”
