Dust acoustic shock waves in arbitrarily charged dusty plasma with low and high temperature non-thermal ions

Abstract: Using the well-known reductive perturbation technique, the three-dimensional (3D) Burgers equation and modified 3D Burgers equation have been derived for a plasma system comprising of non-thermal ions, Maxwellian electrons, and negatively charged fluctuating dust particles. The salient features of nonlinear propagation of shock waves in such plasmas have been investigated in detail. The different temperature non-thermal ions and Maxwellian electrons are found to play an important role in the shock waves soluti… Show more

“…Physically, more and more depression in the particles' distribution will eventually result in a reduction in the amplitude of the wave as the plasma system advances in the direction of equilibrium as β approaches 0 and further towards a positive value (to be shown in the later part of this paper). Here and throughout the paper, the basic plasma parameters considered in the numerical analysis are adopted from [4][5][6] as well as [8][9][10] along with [37]. In figure 2, the spatial propagation of the soliton pulse at different time scales t is presented.…”

“…The theoretical works (Eliasson & Shukla 2004; Mamun & Cairns 2009; Shukla & Eliasson 2012; Dev et al. 2015 a ) are based on a three-component dusty plasma system containing charged dust species of single polarity, and electron and ion species following the Maxwellian distribution function.…”
