Dual-Ridge Gap Waveguide-Based Antenna With Diverse Beam Capabilities

Abstract: In this paper, a dual-ridge gap waveguide (DRGW) based antenna with beam scanning, sum-difference beam, and flat top beam capabilities has been proposed. The proposed antenna is composed of a gap waveguide (GW) with two flared horn-shaped ridges. A metallic plane with the same horn shape as the ridge is inserted between two ridges and extended beyond the waveguide. Two coaxial probes are located on the top and bottom plates of the GW, respectively, to excite the antenna. By independently adjusting the magnitud… Show more

“…By regarding the unit cell as a two-port network, we can establish a relationship between the voltages and currents present on each side of the nth unit cell within the periodic structure. This relationship can be expressed using the ABCD matrix, which encapsulates the transmission characteristics of the unit cell [1,4].…”
