Dual-emitting piezofluorochromic dye@MOF for white-light generation

Abstract: HNU-49 exhibits interesting piezofluorochromic behavior and the luminescence reversibly changes from blue to green. It can encapsulate RhB successfully, and near white-light emission can be obtained by precisely controlling the concentration of RhB and the pressure used.

“…Benefiting from the structural tunability and tailorability, metal-organic complexes have witnessed astonishing achievement in the last two decades. [58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65] The sound assembly of metal ions and predesigned ligands provides a wide platform to generate various functionalized hybrid materials under the guidance of crystal engineering. In this work, we utilise the ET and crystal engineering strategies to predesign CHPMs with potential multiple photoresponsive properties via the synergy of paramagnetic metal ion (Dy 3 + ), ED-ligand (benzene-1,2,3tricarboxylic acid, H 3 BTA) and EA-ligand (1,10-phenanthroline, phen) (Figure 1).…”

“…In addition, some TPE-based luminescent MOFs also exhibit piezofluorochromic behavior, and by combining organic dye encapsulation, white-light emission can be obtained. Adopting this strategy, Pan and coworkers constructed dual-emission luminescent MOF HNU-49 and generated relative pure white light by adjusting the pressure and the concentration of RhB [57]. The key parameters for white LEDs with dye-encapsulated MOFs as phosphors are summarized in Table 2 for easy comparison.…”
