Dual Band High Efficiency Class Ce Power Amplifier Based on CRLH Diplexer

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, the most adequate architecture to implement dual frequency amplifiers is shown. Composite Right/Left Hand (CRLH) and Extended Composite Right/Left Hand (ECRLH) transmission lines are studied and evaluated to find the most suitable structure for dual band power amplifiers. As an example, the performance of a class CE amplifier, working in TETRA and GSM frequency bands, is compared with simulations and measurement, showing good agreement. INTRODUCTIONThe increasing demand for wireless sys… Show more

“…In [4] a CRLH microstrip delay line, which simultaneously exhibits negative refractive index and negative group-delay, has been presented. CRLH and Extended CRLH (ECRLH) transmission lines have been studied and evaluated to find the most suitable structure for dual band power amplifiers in [5]. In [6] a leaky wave antenna consisting of microstrip transmission lines has been presented.…”

“…However, the PAE is degraded by the switching transistor on-resistance, losses in the output filter and matching network, and discrete components for the dc feed and additional output capacitance [8]. In addition, it is practically difficult to optimize the performance of the amplifier on these bands due to the restriction of the components in high power applications [9]. This paper proposes a class E power amplifier (PA) for use in a WPT system.…”
