“…The result of the present study is in accordance with a study done by Volpato et al (2020) (36) who found that a significant improvement in general activity, work, relationships, walking ability, enjoyment in life were observed post cupping treatment. This contradicts a study done in Brazil by Silva et al (2021) (37) who reported that no major effects of cupping could be confirmed on social life. Another study done in Egypt, Alexandria by Abdel Aziz, Abd El-Rasol& El-Gamal (2017) (38) contradicts the result of the present study where it was observed that the walking ability sub scale of functional ability was not affected significantly by the cupping therapy.…”

“…However, the study presented several methodological limitations (e.g., flaws in the randomization process and small sample size) that led to a questionable conclusion. In this sense, we conducted a clinical trial with good methodological quality to reduce bias observed in previous studies [ 23 ], in which we observed that the application of real or sham dry cupping showed no difference in the clinical improvement of patients with CLBP.…”

“…Between February and July 2020, participants from an ongoing randomized controlled trial (RCT) study [ 23 ] (ClinicalTrials.gov–NTC03909672) who completed a 2-month intervention were consecutively invited to participate in this qualitative study. People were eligible for inclusion if presented low back pain for ≥ 3 months, pain intensity between 3 and 8 on a numerical pain rating scale, age between 18 and 59 years, and body mass index of < 35 kg/m 2 .…”

“…Das erste Studienprotokoll mit Doppelverblindung wurde 2019 veröffentlicht 5 . Die Auswertung der Studie zeigte keine Überlegenheit des Schröpfens gegenüber Sham-Schröpfen, bei dem durch Löcher in den Schröpf-Cups der Unterdruck innerhalb von Sekunden entweicht, bei Patienten mit chronischer Lumbalgie 6 . Auch bei dieser Studie ist die Verblindung nicht vollständig möglich gewesen 5 6 .…”
