Abstract: Pancreatitis is a painful inflammatory disease that carries an increased risk of developing pancreatic cancer. Patients with this disease experience acinar-to-ductal metaplasia (ADM), a process in which their pancreatic acinar cells dedifferentiate into a more ductal-like state.
