DREET: A Data-Reliable, Energy-Efficient Transport Layer Protocol

Abstract: In order to achieve reliable event detection, wireless sensor networks (WSN) should guarantee the reliable transport of sensor data from sensor nodes to the sink. So it is very important to keep a limited deviation between sensor data (the data sensed by sensor node) and sink data (the data delivered to applications). We put forward a data reliability notion to depict this limited deviation in this paper. Noticing that sensor data vary slightly in relative short time unless certain events occur, we construct a… Show more

“…In the design, 4-channel signal can be extended to 16 even more, making full use of the internal TDM resources of CS6220. Reference the idea in [11], to implement these functions, the two modules should keep real-time communication through RS232 protocol. The architecture of system is shown in Fig.…”

“…Another transport layer protocol named as DREET [6], a data-reliable energy-efficient transport protocol aims at providing less data retransmission and energy consumption although it fails at providing a proper congestion-free path to transmit the event information to the sink.In [5], a Reliable Robust and Real time communication(RRRT) protocolwas proposed in whichmechanisms for controlling the congestion in the network and for reducing the event-to-action delay bounds are used. Advantage is that the schemes employed for reducing event-to-action delay bounds and to adjust the operational frequency will provide a reliable and energy conserved event-information but high overhead occurs in turn in the network.…”

“…Based on the data reliability notion, the authors in [92] propose a Data-Reliable Energy-Efficient Transport Layer Protocol (DREET). As sensor data varies slightly in relatively short times unless certain events occur, a small subset of sensor data can be constructed as key data and provide reliable transport only for these key data instead of the whole sensor data.…”
