“…The families reported here, and most previous reports, are compatible with auto-soma1 dominant inheritance, but reservations about this need to be stated. Male-to-male transmission is notably rare, being present only in the families of Pincus & Chutorian (1967) and possibly that of Sadjadpour & Amato (1973); it is absent from both the families reported here, and from the large kindred of Haerer et al (1967). Nevertheless, X-linked dominant inheritance is made improbable by the lack of an excess of affected females, by the apparently similar severity in the sexes, and by the fact that in Pincus & Chutorian's family transmission was not only from male to male but through an unaffected male.…”
