An analytic expression for the Green function of the one-dimensional periodic Helmholtz operator is used to analyze the behaviour of the local density of states (LDOS). We provide numerical evidence that in the n-th band the LDOS has at least n minima and maxima. Near the band edge ωc, the LDOS exhibits strong fluctuations, with its mimima approaching zero and the maxima diverging to infinity. For the lowest band, the ratio of the maximum to the minimum of the LDOS is shown to diverge as (ωc − ω) −1 as ω approaches the band edge. Since, in the case of electromagnetic waves, the LDOS governs the spontaneous emission of light of embedded atoms and molecules, this may have profound implications for technology using photonic crystals.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth leading cause of cancer‐related death and the fifth most common malignant tumor globally. However, the clinical efficacy of conventional therapies is limited. Currently, immunotherapy is considered an effective therapeutic strategy for the management of various cancers, especially GC, but is of only limited benefit for GC patients. Accumulating evidence has revealed that oxidative stress plays a critical role in the regulation of immune responses within the tumor microenvironment (TME), affecting the efficacy of immunotherapies. Reactive oxygen species exert critical roles in enhancing antigen presentation, regulating immune responses, and preventing immunoescape. In this review, we summarize the dominant cancer immunotherapeutic strategies and describe the interaction between oxidative stress and the immune TME. We emphasize the underlying mechanisms of the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy, which involves its effects on oxidative stress, in the context of GC. We also highlight the therapeutic potential of regulating oxidative stress to improve immunotherapies, which may have benefits for clinical practice.

У статті досліджено тенденції впливу пандемії COVID-19 на систему освіти. Виявлено подібності та відмінності у виборі керівниками закладів освіти засобів і методів навчання, що забезпечують роботу освітніх установ в різних країнах. Показано, як цифрові технології та дистанційне навчання допомагають учням продовжувати навчання навіть в умовах серйозних соціальних потрясінь. У той же час підкреслюється неоднозначність дистанційної освіти як вектору розвитку освіти: нові технології не тільки не сприяють вирішенню «застарілих» проблем галузі, а й провокують появу нових викликів в цій сфері. Авторами показано що практично всі із перерахованих в статті технологій сьогодні застосовуються для переведення очного навчання в онлайн-середовище або в дистанційні освітні формати. Таким чином вони можуть бути поділені на дві основні групи: платформні і неплатформні рішення. Зокрема зроблено умовний поділ на групи. До одної було віднесено платформу Moodle. Вона в навчальному середовищі дає можливість віддалено отримувати необхідний навчальний матеріал у будь-який час, вона стала невіддільною частиною навчання у закладах вищої освіти. До іншої групи авторами віднесено наступні технології, що працюють як самостійно, так і у взаємодії з іншими функціональними рішеннями це такі як: передача освітнього контенту по каналах ЗМІ; проведення занять за допомогою соціальних мереж, месенджерів та електронної пошти; тиражування «твердих» (паперових) копій навчальних матеріалів та інші. В результаті проведеного дослідження зроблено висновки що малий досвід цифровізації світу засвідчив, як швидко можуть послаблюватися зв’язки між людьми різних поколінь, змінюватися зміст і способи організації звичних видів діяльності, які формують соціальні інститути. Наголошено, що розвиток будь-якого суспільства багато в чому здійснюється за рахунок вдосконалення його соціальних інститутів. Зміни, привнесені пандемією в життя і міжнародного співтовариства в цілому і кожної конкретної людини окремо, задають необхідність змін ключових суспільних інститутів. Доведено, що і в сфері освіти в найближчому часі буде потрібно переглянути не тільки форми і принципи його організації, але й самі основи цієї системи.
