Double-negative metamaterial square enclosed Q.S.S.R For microwave sensing application in S-band with high sensitivity and Q-factor

Abstract: Metamaterials have gained much attention due to their exciting characteristics and potential uses in constructing valuable technologies. This paper presents a double negative square resonator shape metamaterial sensor to detect the material and its thickness. An innovative double-negative metamaterial sensor for microwave sensing applications is described in this paper. It has a highly sensitive Q-factor and has good absorption characteristics approximately equal to one. For the metamaterial sensor, the recomm… Show more

“…A MM structure exhibits both negative permittivity and permeability at the same time, which is called left-handed metamaterial [ 23 , 24 ]. The mechanism behind the operation of sensors inspired by metamaterials is based on the change in scattering characteristics reflection (S11) and transmission (S21); variations in the permittivity ), permeability , or refractive index of the MM based resonator result in a change in the sensed parameters (dielectric change).…”

“…Among them, since the absorption peak of narrow-band absorption is often generated by resonance, it is easy to relate the frequency of the absorption peak to the external environment. This natural advantage can be exploited in applications such as sensing and detection [ 24 , 25 , 26 ], as well as broadband absorption, because it has irreplaceable advantages over traditional materials in terms of thickness, weight, etc. Therefore, it has a wide range of applications in various applications, including electromagnetic shielding, electromagnetic pollution prevention, multiplexing technology, and so on.…”
