Double intensity injection for antiproton production

Abstract: The linear density of protons injected into the Fermilab Main Injector is doubled for antiproton production using barrier waves. Adiabatic capture into 53-MHz buckets can be performed in about 10 ms with barrier waves on both sides to prevent excessive phase drift outside one booster-batch length. Simulation shows that although the injected protons are captured into 90 rf buckets, the amount of loss in the extra 6 buckets on either sides totals to only 0.51%.
