Double Amino Functionalized Ag Nanoparticles as SERS Tags in Raman Diagnostic

Abstract: Abstract. Surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect is currently exploited as the basis of a new type of optical labels for in vivo investigation of the tissues, especially for early medical diagnostic. Silver colloidal nanoparticles decorated with chemisorbed cresyl violet molecular species could act as hybrid SERS labels. Their Raman scattering properties have been characterized here using different SERS techniques, and probing different excitation wavelengths, even in the near infrared. Obtaining FT-S… Show more

“…For CV + , structures with the positive charge at various locations (NH 2 + , O + and N + ) can be considered. However, these structures are not distinguished in the present work because this charge is delocalized over the entire molecule in DFT calculations [25]. Therefore, CV + was optimized as a structure with two amino groups and a positive charge distributed over the entire molecule.…”

“…Additionally, the absorption peak of CV + on a Langmuir-Blodgett film is observed at~525 nm [29]. On the other hand, the monomeric band of CV + is known to have a λ max of~585 nm [25,[28][29][30]. This band means that the energy of the charge-transfer state of CV + was overestimated in the TD-DFT calculation at the B3LYP/6-31+G** level of theory.…”

“…The samples of fungal mycelia, fungal spores, and banana pseudostems were detected with the aforementioned QE65 Pro Raman spectrometer at a laser power of 20 mW, and the integration time for the three types of samples were 15, 10, and 3 s, respectively. The strong [29] and reproducible [30] Raman peaks among the measured SERS spectra were selected as the fingerprinting/characteristics of the Raman spectra.…”
