“…The addition of methacryl-substituted POSS monomers into dispersion polymerization of polystyrene resulted in donut-like shape POSS containing latex particles. [28] The reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization technique was used for fabricating POSS grafted nanocomposites, [29] molecular imprinted POSS containing microparticles, [15] and self-assembly aggregates. [30] The POSS containing random type aggregates and latex particles were also obtained by ringopening, [30][31][32] in-situ solution, [30] dispersion, [33] and emulsion [32] polymerization in batch-wise production systems.…”

“…[35] Ng et al investigated the shape character changes of PS latex by the addition of only a little amount of vinyl-monomer POSS. [28] The study of Castelverto et al demonstrated that POSS-methacrylate was first copolymerized with acrylic monomers by free radical mechanisms to obtain latex film structure in miniemulsion medium. [36] Bai et al, Tian et al, Wang et al, and Liao et al demonstrated that the core-shell structure of POSS hybrid particles were fabricated by using various homo and copolymer in emulsion, miniemulsion, or seed emulsion medium.…”

“…As far as we know, the syntheses of PVDF Janus particles with bowl-like and popcorn-like structure via seeded emulsion polymerization following surface nucleation mechanism have not been reported. At present, bowl-like, , erythrocyte-like, or single-cavity particles are synthesized mainly through changing the charging amount, the feeding method, or the addition times of the cross-linker divinylbenzene (DVB). In the present study, the hydrophilic comonomer 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate (MPS) was used to replace DVB for the preparation of PVDF Janus particles because MPS can be hydrolyzed in an aqueous system to obtain −OH groups on the surface of the particles.…”
