Abstract. The use of domain-specific languages (DSLs) has become a successful technique in the development of complex systems. Nevertheless, the construction of this type of languages is time-consuming and requires highly-specialized knowledge and skills. An emerging practice to facilitate this task is to enable reuse through the definition of lan-guage modules which can be later put together to build up new DSLs. Still, the identification and definition of language modules are complex and errorprone activities, thus hindering the reuse exploitation when developing DSLs. In this paper, we propose a computer-aided approach to (i) identify potential reuse in a set of legacy DSLs; and (ii) capitalize such potential reuse by extracting a set of reusable language modules with well defined interfaces that facilitate their assembly. We validate our approach by using realistic DSLs coming out from industrial case studies and obtained from public GitHub repositories.

The recent increased use of Internet, social media, and networked business mark a development trend where software-based services flow to the open market for enabling service-oriented networked business. Our vision is that in future, organizations and individuals collaborate within open service ecosystems. An open service ecosystem is characterized especially by the autonomy of its entities, its evolution with respect to available services and collaboration types, and dynamic establishment of collaborations. For facilitating collaboration establishment in open service ecosystems features of services and cooperation facilities, and feature inter-dependencies need to be governed rigorously. Towards this purpose we have established a framework for unambiguous description of service ecosystem features. The framework comprises a conceptual model which provides especially a categorization of features, and a formalization of the conceptual model as a meta-model for service ecosystems. We show that the corresponding feature categories have their specific roles and semantics as part of different ecosystem elements and in different phases of service ecosystem processes.

Abstract. Modularisation can reduce the effort in designing and maintaining language specifications. Existing approaches to language modularisation are typically either focused on language syntax or on language semantics. In this paper, we propose a modularisation approach covering both syntax and semantics. We propose defining composition rules on the level of abstract syntax, making it the central artefact in a language module. To enable clean interfaces for such language modules-effectively making them language components-we use rolemodelling at the metamodel level. We discuss how role-based metamodelling supports the aspectual modularisation of language semantics and can also be integrated with concrete syntax specifications to build self-contained language components. We present the implementation of our approach in the LanGems language compositions system and show how it can be used to provide a modularised definition of the Object Constraint Language.
