Salutogenic landscape with its health-promoting qualities is a solution for ever-increasing problem of stress for university students as a vulnerable group. Based on nature related theories, natural environments could have a salutary effect on psychological restoration through stress alleviation. There is a body of research on investigating the impact of open green space characteristics for increasing of psychological restoration through framework of attention restoration theory and supportive environment theory. However, there is little knowledge on how the interaction among these characteristics could promote perceived restoration experience (PRE). To address this problem, using perceived sensory dimension (PSD) for open green space qualities and Perceived Restorativeness (PR) as properties of restorative environments, this study assessed the extent to which the PSD and PR impact on PRE. Using 444 screened data, the mediation effect of PR on the association of PSD to PRE is shown as well as the validity and reliability of proposed relationships. 'Serene', 'space', 'prospect', 'rich in species' and 'nature' were the most influential PSDs on PRE through their higher effect on perceived characteristics of 'fascination' and 'compatibility'. These results provide information within landscape architecture and planning to promote the development of open spaces as resources for psychological restoration and stress relief.

The human is a product of nature, and the same emotional process at work in families is at work in the relationship of the human to nature. Current global concerns and environmental changes highlight the need for humans to revisit their relationships with the natural world. The purpose of this study was to survey Murray Bowen's professional letters to reify the constructs of Bowen theory. Qualitative methodology with a narrative research design was employed. A sample (N = 250) of Dr Bowen's professional letters from the archives dating from 1965 to 1990 was analysed. Results from this analysis reveal that Bowen's writings are grounded in the language of nature and that Bowen's thinking about the human species and the family offers ways in which to see the family and humans as part of a larger system. Relating more maturely to the natural world is essential for human survival.

Natural landscape performance: Environmental restorativeness and its influence on tourist behavior

This study uses environmental psychology theory to explore creative natural landscape performance (NLP), a form of tourism performing arts that combines natural beauty and cultural resources. Tourists who had experienced an NLP during the previous 2 years were surveyed, and 408 valid responses were collected through this online survey. The findings indicate that the natural setting of NLPs possesses the key characteristics of restorative environments. Further, the five dimensions of a restorative environment positively affect favorable emotions (i.e., happy, excited, relaxed) in the order of compatibility, being away, fascination, scope, and coherence of the performance. Positive emotions have a positive and substantial influence on the quality of the experience and its perceived flow. Additionally, quality of experience and perceived flow has direct and positive impacts on loyalty. Therefore, this study suggests utilizing and improving natural environments' restorative qualities to enhance NLPs for tourists and foster destination loyalty based on this.
