Does gestational diabetes mellitus influence the morphological characteristics of the placenta?

Abstract: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as any degree of glucose intolerance, with a decrease in insulin sensitivity during pregnancy, with recognition in the second or third trimester of pregnancy and disappearing after delivery.
