En este artículo se analiza la representación de las mujeres en películas documentales que relatan la dictadura de Pinochet. Se han analizado más de trescientas películas realizadas entre 1973 y 2019 para configurar un retrato fílmico de la mujer chilena. Para ello hemos considerado su papel social, cultural y político durante el régimen militar, para así evaluar cómo los personajes y testimonios han cambiado a lo largo de los años, lo que significa que la representación histórica en documentales y la memoria filmica son volátiles, acorde al momento en que son rodadas las películas. Como una poderosa fuerza cambio, las mujeres han tenido una función esencial en la Historia Contemporánea, por lo que un estudio cinematográfico de ellas durante la dictadura en Chile entre 1973 y 1990 es crucial para entender su trascendencia histórica.
