Introduction: Urban resilience construction can aid in the management of urban crises and enhance the quality of the human living environment. Compared to metropolises in developed regions, cities in underdeveloped regions with unsatisfactory natural environments, insufficient economic and social development, and inadequate infrastructure construction are highly vulnerable to challenges posed by natural disasters, epidemics, and climate change. Comprehensive quantitative evaluations are needed to identify avenues for enhancing urban resilience.Methods: This study employs the TOPSIS entropy weight method and coupled coordination model to evaluate the economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure resilience of six cities and states along the Sichuan-Tibet Railway in China from 2015 to 2020. Furthermore, correlation and gray correlation analysis are used to identify the primary factors influencing the urban resilience of underdeveloped regions.Results: Firstly, during 2015-2020, the overall urban resilience of each city and state maintained an increasing trend, with different trends in the evolution of the four resilience indices and differences among cities, and the highest overall resilience is in Lhasa. Secondly, the coupling coordination between the overall resilience and each resilience aspect maintained an increasing trend and differed significantly from each other. Finally, the social and economic resilience of each city and state maintained an increasing trend and differed significantly from each other.Discussion: Economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure factors each have their own characteristics in influencing urban resilience. Based on the results, we present a three-dimensional evaluation model for analyzing the evolutionary trajectories and resilience patterns of cities. This work intends to present new concepts for assessing and optimizing urban resilience in underdeveloped regions using quantitative methodologies, as well as providing references for urban resilience construction in these places.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the factors supporting and inhibiting the income of traders in the RI-PNG border area. Theoretical framework: In the trade process, Producers have a very important role in the process of buying and selling transactions. Producers are faced with driving factors which can support and influence the business so that it can progress and develop so as to increase the income received. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses secondary data in the form of interviews using questionnaires. The analytical tool used is Force Field Analysis (FFA) to see the factors supporting and inhibiting the income of producers (traders) in the RI-PNG border area. Findings: The results of the study based on the FFA analysis conducted stated that the highest key success factor in the supporting factor was the cooperative relationship between producers (traders) and the government, while the inhibiting factor was the low quality of human resources. Research, Practical & Social implications: The results of this study can be used by policy makers, namely the government in connection with the known supporting and inhibiting factors in order to make policies that can increase the income and welfare of producers as well as provide benefits to the state.The results of this study can also be useful for the community at large because it opens their understanding of trade conditions in the RI-PNG border area, as well as factors that support and hinder, so that it can become new knowledge in the community. Originality/value: The RI-PNG border area can become an area of economic growth because of the economic activities that occur. Various potential products can be traded through trade that occurs at the border. Therefore, besides focusing on infrastructure development around the border area, the government also needs to improve the character of the community so that they are able to compete in the trade to increase the community's income.The difference from previous research and this research is that most of the previous research only focused on the topic of producer income. The Southwest Maluku region in eastern Indonesia is considered a frontier, outermost and underdeveloped region. Its inhabitants live on isolated islands, including the residents of Mahaleta Village, where only 9.4% of the community have limited access to electricity. This study aimed to design an economically feasible hybrid renewable energy (RE) system based on solar and wind energy to integrate with the productive activities of the village. The study developed conceptual schemes to meet the demand for electricity from the residential, community, commercial and productive sectors of the village. The analysis was performed using a techno-economic approach. The hybrid system was designed using the HOMER Pro optimization function, and cold-storage and dryer systems were designed to support related productive activities. The optimized design of the hybrid RE system comprised 271.62 kW of solar photovoltaics, 80 kW of wind turbines and a 1-MWh lead–acid battery. We found that the hybrid RE system would only be economically feasible with a full-grant incentive and an electricity tariff of $0.0808/kWh. However, the productive activity schemes were all economically feasible, with a cold-storage cost of $0.035/kg and a drying cost of $0.082/kg. Integrating the hybrid RE system with productive activities can improve the economic feasibility of the energy system and create more jobs as well as increase income for the local community.
