Abstract: Background: The epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is overexpressed in 30% of breast cancers, and this overexpression is strongly correlated with a poor prognosis. Herceptin is a common treatment for HER2-positive breast cancer; however, cancer cells tend to adapt gradually to the drug, rendering it ineffective.
