Analysis of the frequencies of chromosomes carrying various classes of porcine endogenous retroviruses (PERVs) and combinations of these classes was performed in the swine species Sus scrofa L. by using maps constructed in two principal component coordinates. Four population clusters can be recognized in the maps. Cluster 1 is formed by wild boars,cluster 2 by domestic meat breeds, cluster 3 by meat-and-lard (universal) breeds, and cluster 4 by miniature pigs. The maps indicate that modern domesticated swine meat breeds are the closest to the wild type. Meat-and-lard domestic swine breeds are more distant from wild boars, and miniature pigs are diverged the most. The maps showed that microevolution processes associated with PERV carriership frequency had two basic dimensions, or vectors: the vector of fat deposition variation and the “minus” selection vector (determination of commercial traits). Thus, PERVs may cause variation in pig physiology

A b s t r a c tStudying changes of gene pools of populations of the domestic animals caused by selection and reflecting micro evolutionary processes, represents both practical and theoretical interest. As a rule, in such works the qualitative traits controlled by the principle «one genotype -one phenotype» are used that significantly simplifies the analysis. We investigated dynamic processes in Landrace population of domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domesticus), having estimated a variation of one of continuous quantitative traits, the newborn piglet weight, for which similar relationship is not unambiguous. Statistical analysis of the zootechnical register data was carried out on more than 26 thousand pigs that were born within 23 years at an experimental farm (Novosibirsk Province), being the regional authorized Landrace breed nucleus. Ancestors of the formed population were delivered from Latvia in the early 1960s. They were the elite young animals estimated on a standard complex of selection traits. The entire period of existence of population the formation of its breeding nuclear was carried out on a complex of traits according to existing Instruction for estimation of breeding value of pigs. As the Instruction didn't contain standards on a large newborn weight, the selection on the specified trait wasn't made. The changes of statistical parameters of the newborn weight in piglets were estimated for each year of the observation, because the analyzed livestock was not a model laboratory population, but a typical breeding commercial herd in which continuous variability of a trait is interfaced to continuous «sliding» alternations of generations and the variability of age structure. During long-time analysis of the dynamics of this unselected trait, the directional (moving) selection on genotypes for the loci controlling growth rate of pigs in ontogenesis (in pre-and post-natal periods) is revealed. In the populations where such selection works, the newborn weight of piglets can be used for forecasting pig weight during the postnatal period. Application of «parent-descendant» regression on the newborn weight allowed to estimate the duration of a population gene pool adaptation to new environment. It appeared that process of adaptation lasted nearly two decades that made five full changes of the generations. In the same population at the same time the stabilizing selection optimized an individual animal weight at birth, cutting both minimum and maximum values. The described mechanism includes cyclic vector changes towards driving selection against the stabilizing selection vectors and thus maintains the population polymorphism on loci which control prenatal growth and large weight in the newborns. An observed unevenness of wavy change of these cycles should be also noted.

Проведён анализ результатов исследований популяций домашних свиней за 25-летний период, что позволило рассмотреть ряд положений о роли естественных процессов и стандартизирующего отбора при адаптации популяций к технологическим условиям. Показано, что формирование межпопуляционных различий является результатом естественных генетико-стохастических процессов, а внутрипопуляционные различия (между линиями и семействами) обусловлены соответственно полиморфизмом генов Y-хромосомы и митохондриальной ДНК. Полиморфизм генетических маркеров в популяциях домашних свиней является следствием проводимых человеком скрещиваний при формировании современных пород, но сам набор этих маркеров в каждой породе и популяции изначально случаен. Ассоциации генетических маркеров в популяциях оказываются результатом независимых процессов: естественного догаметного отбора хромосом (на стадии гаметогенеза) и искусственного стандартизирующего отбора. Обнаружено, что частота носителей эндогенных ретровирусов PERV в популяциях свиней связана с условиями внешней среды и отражает уровень благополучия популяции. Построена модель связи гомо- и гетерозиготности популяции свиней с вариацией количественных признаков: развитие гетерозигот может быть нестабильным ввиду наличия у них большего числа степеней свободы при реализации фенотипа. Гены локусов, которые формируют генотипы, соответствующие определению: «генотипу соответствует множество фенотипов, а фенотипу соответствует множество генотипов», названы авторами «генами адаптации». Вклад стандартизирующего отбора растёт по мере прогресса породообразования, при этом увеличивается гетерогенность. Доместикационная часть генома Sus scrofa состоит из консервативной гомозиготной базовой части и зависимой от условий среды гетерозиготной «надстройки». Поэтому в популяциях современных «коммерческих» пород свиней сформированы, на первый взгляд, парадоксальные генетические компаунды, обеспечивающие необходимый адаптационный потенциал. Так, в локусах, регулирующих онтогенез, в гетерозиготном состоянии сохраняются рецессивные аллели, детерминирующие низкую скорость роста, - из-за повышенной приспособленности гетерозигот, у которых аллели, увеличивающие эмбриональную смертность, являются оптимизаторами желательной величины помёта.
